IELTS-Listening
IELTS Listening is same in both IELTS academic and general training. This assesses candidate’s ability to understand main ideas, detailed information, opinions, purposes, feelings and attitudes of the speakers from the listening audios.
- A recording will be played in the test and 40 questions will be asked based on it.
- The recording will not be stopped, paused, reversed or forwarded. There will be in four sections in the recording.
- Section 1- A conversation between two people in a social context e.g., phone conversation for job enquiry.
- Section 2- A monologue in a social context e.g., speech about local facility.
- Section 3- A conversation between two-four people in an education or training context e.g., student(s) discussing an assignment with university professor.
- Section 4- A monologue on an academic context e.g., a university lecture.
- A question booklet will be given to you and candidate need to answer the given questions by comprehending the information from audios.
- The audio will be played for 30 minutes.
- Extra 10 minutes will be given to transfer and check answers on Listening Answer sheet in pen-paper based test. However, in computer-based test, 2 minutes will be given to recheck answers.
- The band score will be given according to the number to correct answers. There is no negative marking in this test.
