What is IELTS?
IELTS stand for International English Language Testing System. It is a standardized exam to test English language proficiency of non-native English speakers. This exam is widely accepted by several English countries including UK, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand etc. for study, work and migration. IELTS band scores play a vital role in visa processes for these countries.
IELTS is jointly managed by British Council and IDP: IELTS Australia and Cambridge Assessment English, since 1989. IELTS test knowledge and ability of a candidate to speak, read, write and listen in English.The test result sheet is called Test Report Form (TRF). Each test result is valid for 2 years only.
IELTS is conducted over more than 140 countries and records more than 1.5 million test takers every year that’s make it world’s most popular test for higher education and immigration. IELTS band score also fulfil the demands of other exams TOFEL, PTE, CELPIP and TEF.
In addition, there are also two types of IELTS. Based on the visa requirements, aspirants can choose between IELTS Academic or IELTS General Training. For Study Visa and Professional License, IELTS Academic is accepted while for Work Visas and Immigration, IELTS General Training is accepted.
